CLUB LEGACY HAS TRAVEL & NON TRAVEL TEAMS FOR 10U/11U - 18U PLAYERS
Club Legacy believes in the tryout process and we hold these tryouts in the Fall of each year, typically starting in October for the 10U/11U-14U players and the Sunday immediately following the Nebraska State Volleyball Tournament for our 15U - 18U players.
We hold Club Team Informational Meetings starting in October for those who want to learn more about the club season. It is also an opportunity to meet our Senior Club Director, Steve Bymers, & Director & Club Administrator, Steph Peterson, and the rest of the Legacy Staff.
We discuss the tryout process, expectations for the upcoming season, travel and our Strength and Agility Partner, Explosive Edge owner, Gibbie Duval, is also at the meeting to discuss the program.

10/11U National Teams fees for the upcoming 2023/2024 season -- $2000

Frequently Asked Questions
Additional Fees? Participation in additional tournaments, three day local tourneys, travel tourneys and any additional items are not included with the season fees for that age group. A Club Legacy backpack is required for all players and are available to purchase during club uniform fitting registration. If a player has a Legacy backpack they are not required to purchase a new one each year.
Tournament Hotels: Most traveling tournaments that Club Legacy participates in are "Stay & Play Tournaments" therefore Legacy teams are required to stay at certain hotels. Legacy will make hotel arrangements for all other travel tournaments those that are not "Stay & Play Tournaments" also. This is to provide a central location for all teams to stay if possible, Legacy does not make a profit off of the hotels players stay at.
Additional Information
Pre Tryout Clinics - October
We will have PreTryout Clinics for both National & Regional Team Players for 10/11U - 18U Players. Players that are interested in trying out for Regional Teams are welcome to attend any National PreTryout Clinics also. High School Players that are still in season (on the varsity roster) with their school team are not able to attend the clinics until their school season is over.

Team Formation - October & November
The tryout process is a standard procedure used by the Club Legacy coaches, evaluator and administration to assess the skills, abilities, and potential of players who wish to be part of a team. Tryouts are typically held in October for the 10/11U - 14U players for the upcoming season. 15U - 18U players will have tryouts in November, the Sunday immediately after High School state tournaments.
During tryouts, players are asked to demonstrate various volleyball skills such as serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and defense. Players will also scrimmage for the last part of the tryout process to see the players play, how they work with other players & process the input from coaches. Coaches and evaluators closely observe the players' performance, attitude, body language, and teamwork abilities.
The goal is to identify players who show skills, are willing to listen and put in to play the coaches feedback and are the best fit for the team's needs.
The selection process can be competitive, players who display talent, potential for growth, and good teamwork skills are more likely to be selected for the teams. Those who do not make a team may be offered opportunities to improve their skills through further training or developmental programs.
Tryouts are an essential part of building strong and competitive volleyball teams, as they help ensure that the players selected are capable of performing at the desired level and can work effectively together as a cohesive unit.
AAU Nationals or USAV National Team Tournament in June/July
- 12U first team will be encouraged to attend the bid tournament for USAV Nationals or otherwise attend the AAU Nationals in Florida
- First Teams (13U - 17U) will be encouraged to participate in the AAU Nationals or USAV National Team Tournament in June/July
- 18U will participate in USAV Nationals if they qualify (April)

Tryout Process
REGISTRATION
- Tryouts for the 10U/11U - 14U players typically occur the first half of October for both our National & Regional Teams. All players will need to pre-register for Tryouts & will need to wear the Pre-Tryout T-shirt with their tryout number they received.
- Tryouts for the 15U-18U players is held the Sunday after Nebraska State Volleyball. All players will need to pre-register for Tryouts & will need to wear the Pre-Tryout T-shirt with their tryout number they received.
- Walk-Ins are welcome, but will need to go through the online registration process upon arriving at the courts and pay the registration fee.
CHECK-IN
- Check In will begin a half hour prior to tryouts, we suggest you are there at that time or before.
- All players will need to check in and wear your t-shirt to tryouts that you received at the pre-tryout clinics with the number on it. You will keep the same number during pre-tryout clinics and tryouts. If you did not come to a pre-tryout clinic, we will give you a t-shirt with a number at tryouts!
- Begin warming up on the court.
- We encourage parents to NOT watch during tryouts, players (especially younger ones) can be more focused on Mom or Dad watching them vs. doing the drills and following instruction when parents are around.
EVALUATION
- All athletes will be evaluated during drills and the tryout process by Club Legacy coaches and placed on a team based on each players skills, ability to be coached, enthusiasm and need for that position on a team. Players that are willing to try new positions that coaches ask them to try, is a positive attribute of a player.
TEAM FORMATION & PLACEMENT
- Coaches, the Club Director and the Leadership Team will meet after the tryout to confirm and finalize teams.
- Athletes will be notified directly following the tryout after Coaches, the Club Directors and the Leadership Team meet to confirm team placement.
DECISION
- Players and parents will need to accept or deny the offer to be on a team, out of respect for other players & teams, we allow 5 minutes for a decision to be made. Contracts will be available for signature and a non-refundable check deposit of $600 will be needed at that time to hold the players spot on the team.
AGE DEFINITION
Skills Training
The season practices will start in the last week of November, beginning of December for teams.
10/11U - 14U teams will have skills training during November to prepare for the upcoming practices. There will be skills training sessions for 10/11U - 18U, players available December through April for players to attend. We highly encourage this training for all players and their development. During the month of December, National Players will be able to attend at no cost, Regional Players will incur a small fee for attending - all players will be required to register for the sessions. Setter training will be available for the setters on the team designated by the coaches and will be at no cost to these designated setters. Players that would like to attend the setter training but are not the setters for the team will incur a small fee for the training.
USA Volleyball Membership - Required
All players will need to sign up for a USAV Membership. Please go to the following link to complete your players membership. This will need to be done prior to uniform fitting. Once this is complete, we will be able to roster the player on a team and sign the team up for tournaments.

Agility & Strength with Xplosive Edge
Club Legacy has partnered with Xedge for strength & agility training for our athletes. Players 14U - 18U on National Teams are required to particiapte in the Xedge Program. We are excited to be in our 2nd year with Xedge and had tremendous growth in our last season. Players that are on Regional Teams or 10/11U - 13U teams have the opportunity to sign up for Xedge programs also. Details for the upcoming season will be sent out once teams are chosen.
