CLUB LEGACY HAS TRAVEL & NON TRAVEL TEAMS FOR 10U/11U - 18U PLAYERS
Club Legacy believes in the tryout process and we hold these tryouts in the Fall of each year, typically starting in October for the 10U/11U-14U players and the Sunday immediately following the Nebraska State Volleyball Tournament for our 15U - 18U players. We hold Club Team Informational Meetings starting in October for those who want to learn more about the club season. It is also an opportunity to meet our Senior Club Director, Steve Bymers, & Director & Club Administrator, Steph Peterson, and the rest of the Legacy Staff.
We discuss the tryout process, expectations for the upcoming season, travel and our Strength and Agility Partner, Explosive Edge owner, Gibbie Duval, is also at the meeting to discuss the program.
September 30th - 8:15pm - 9:15pm for 10/11U through 18U Parents (players are welcome to attend, however they do not need to)
October 20th - 6:30 - 7:30 for 15U through 18U Parents (players are welcome to attend)
Both meetings will be held in the conference rooms on the Grill side of Bowlero in the back conference rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions
Additional Fees? Participation in additional tournaments, three day local tourneys, travel tourneys and any additional items are not included with the season fees for that age group. A Club Legacy backpack is required for all players and are available to purchase during club uniform fitting registration. If a player has a Legacy backpack they are not required to purchase a new one each year.
Tournament Hotels: Most traveling tournaments that Club Legacy participates in are "Stay & Play Tournaments" therefore Legacy teams are required to stay at certain hotels. Legacy will make hotel arrangements for all other travel tournaments those that are not "Stay & Play Tournaments" also. This is to provide a central location for all teams to stay if possible, Legacy does not make a profit off of the hotels players stay at.

Pre Tryout Clinics
We will have PreTryout Clinics for both National & Regional Team Players for 10/11U - 18U Players. Players that are interested in trying out for Regional Teams are welcome to attend any National PreTryout Clinics also. High School Players that are still in season (on the varsity roster) with their school team are not able to attend the clinics until their school season is over.

Team Formation - October & November
The tryout process is a standard procedure used by the Club Legacy coaches, evaluator and administration to assess the skills, abilities, and potential of players who wish to be part of a team. Tryouts are typically held in October for the 10/11U - 14U players for the upcoming season. 15U - 18U players will have tryouts in November, the Sunday immediately after High School state tournaments.
During tryouts, players are asked to demonstrate various volleyball skills such as serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and defense. Players will also scrimmage for the last part of the tryout process to see the players play, how they work with other players & process the input from coaches. Coaches and evaluators closely observe the players' performance, attitude, body language, and teamwork abilities.
The goal is to identify players who show skills, are willing to listen and put in to play the coaches feedback and are the best fit for the team's needs.
The selection process can be competitive, players who display talent, potential for growth, and good teamwork skills are more likely to be selected for the teams. Those who do not make a team may be offered opportunities to improve their skills through further training or developmental programs.
Tryouts are an essential part of building strong and competitive volleyball teams, as they help ensure that the players selected are capable of performing at the desired level and can work effectively together as a cohesive unit.
AAU Nationals or USAV National Team Tournament in June/July
- 12U first team will be encouraged to attend the bid tournament for USAV Nationals or otherwise attend the AAU Nationals in Florida
- First Teams (13U - 17U) will be expected to participate in the AAU Nationals or USAV National Team Tournament in June/July
- Second Teams (13U - 17U) will be encouraged to participate in the AAU Nationals or USAV National Team Tournament in June/July
- 18U will participate in USAV Nationals if they qualify (April)

REGISTRATION

TRYOUT DATES
Tryouts for 10U/11U–14U players typically take place during the first half of October for both our National and Regional teams. All players must pre-register for tryouts and wear their Pre-Tryout T-shirt with their assigned tryout number, given out at the clinics.
Tryouts for 15U–18U players are held the Sunday following Nebraska State Volleyball. All players must pre-register for tryouts and wear their Pre-Tryout T-shirt with their assigned tryout number.
Walk-ins are welcome but will need to complete online registration and pay the registration fee upon arrival at the courts.
CHECK-IN
Check-in begins a half hour before tryouts start — we suggest arriving at that time or earlier.
All players must check in wearing the t-shirt and number received at the pre-tryout clinics. You'll keep the same number throughout pre-tryout clinics and tryouts. If you didn't attend a pre-tryout clinic, we'll provide a t-shirt and number at tryouts.
Players should begin warming up on the court after check-in.
We encourage parents not to watch during tryouts. Players, especially younger ones, tend to focus better on drills and instructions when parents aren't watching.
EVALUATION
All athletes are evaluated during drills and throughout the tryout process by Club Legacy coaches. Team placement is based on each player's skills, coachability, enthusiasm, and the team's needs at that position. Willingness to try new positions when asked is a strong, positive attribute in a player.
TEAM FORMATION & PLACEMENT
Coaches, the Club Director, and the Leadership Team meet after tryouts to confirm and finalize teams. Athletes are notified of their team placement directly following this meeting.
DECISION
Players and parents will need to accept or decline their team offer. Out of respect for other players and teams, we allow 5 minutes to make a decision. Contracts will be available for signature, and a non-refundable $650 deposit is required at that time to hold the player's spot on the team.

Skills Training
Season practices typically begin the first part of December for all teams.
10U/11U–14U teams will have skills training in November to prepare for the upcoming season. Skills training sessions will also be available for 10U/11U–18U players from December through April, and we highly encourage all players to attend for their continued development.
During December, National players may attend these sessions at no cost, while Regional players will incur a small fee. All players are required to register in advance.
Setter training is available at no cost to the setters designated by each team's coaches. Players who would like to attend setter training but aren't their team's designated setter may do so for a small fee.
USA Volleyball Membership - Required
All players are required to sign up for a USAV membership. Please use the link below to complete your player's membership — this must be done prior to uniform fitting. Once complete, we'll be able to roster the player on a team and register the team for tournaments.
GPVB/USA Volleyball Membership: if you had a membership last year, please log in with that same account. Creating a new one can cause duplicate records and issues linking the membership to the team.

Agility & Strength with Xplosive Edge
Club Legacy has partnered with XEdge for strength and agility training for our athletes. Players on National Teams ages 13U–18U are required to participate in the XEdge program. We're excited to be entering our 5th year with XEdge, after tremendous growth this past season. Players on Regional Teams or 10U/11U–13U teams also have the opportunity to sign up for XEdge programs. Details for the upcoming season will be sent out once teams are chosen.
